Thomas Veenstra is junior researcher at SFL since 1 september 2024. His interests lie in the field of finance, and the interrelationship between financial conditions and social conditions. A strong supporter of a fair and sustainable transition, he is interested in making complex matters palpable to the layman. His further interests lie in the field of agriculture, the interaction between public and private actors and institutional design.

He holds a master in Philosophy, Politics and Economics and a master in International Political Economy. He did a Schuman traineeship at the liaison office of the European Parliament in the Netherlands and worked as a policy advisor to a  political party in Fryslân.
