Dr. Moutaz Altaghlibi is an assistant professor at the Sustainable Finance Lab, Utrecht University School of Economics. Throughout his career, he had the opportunity to combine both professional and academic expertise in several domains: administration, finance, consultancy, research and education.
Moutaz holds a PhD in Economics from Université Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne and University of Amsterdam within the framework of the European Doctorate in Economics-Erasmus Mundus (EDEEM), and an MSc in Quantitative Economics from Université Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne and Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, along with an MSc degree in Financial Management from the Arab Academy for Banking and Financial Sciences.
He is the lead for SFL’s Energy Transition Programme. His research interests lie in the quantitative aspects of climate change, sustainable development and the optimal transition to a low carbon economy. Currently, his work is focused on investigating climate related transition risks on the financial sector and financial stability.
