Ingrid Robeyns is Professor of Ethics of Institutions at Utrecht University. She studied economics and philosophy, and obtained her PhD on the capability approach under Amartya Sen in Cambridge in 2002. In 2017 she published a book that became a standard work on the capability approach (download here). In addition, she has worked on issues of inequality and injustice for many years, and published the book Limitarism. The case against extreme wealth on this subject in 2024. She currently leads the VICI project Visions for the Future (2003-2008), in which alternatives to the currently dominant socio-economic model are analyzed from a normative perspective.
