Aglaia Fischer works as project manager and researcher at Circle Economy and holds a position as PhD candidate at Wageningen UR. Her topic of expertise is financing the circular economy. She is a former employee of Sustainable Finance Lab.
A background in Urban Environmental Management – with a focus on circular economy – led to the insight that a lack of investments in the circular economy results in a slow transition. Understanding the financial reality of circular business models as well as financial products and -decision making processes can create a leverage point for the acceleration towards a circular economy.
Aglaia held positions at ABN AMRO bank and pension investor PGGM before joining Circle Economy and the Sustainable Finance Lab in order to pursue a more disruptive role in developing the structure and mindset necessary for investing in the circular economy.
