Mark Sanders’ research interests include innovation economics, entrepreneurship and economic development, with a special focus on role of entrepreneurial activity and finance in building sustainable and resilient economies.

Since Mark joined Sustainable Finance Lab in 2011 he has developed a keen interest in the economics of monetary and financial reform and entrepreneurial (green) finance and in 2015-2018 he coordinated the Horizon 2020 project Financial and Institutional Reforms for the Entrepreneurial Society.

His most recent publications include papers on the economic impacts of natural hazards and the role of banking and entrepreneurship in absorbing such shocks.
