Trusted circle event on forward-looking supervision in Brazil.
Brazil’s central bank (BCB) has pioneered an integrated approach that replaces static reporting with real-time data sharing, dissolves the micro/macro divide, and supervises parent undertakings for their responsibility for entire financial groups. All while remaining Basel compliant. The results offer a compelling model for supervisors grappling with complexity, competitiveness, and systemic risk.
This trusted event on 18 September explores how Brazil has fundamentally reimagined supervision, and what Europe can learn from it.Over an afternoon of presentations and discussion, potential speakers and participants from the central banks and academia will address three questions:
- Why do foward-looking assesments matter for financial stability, competitiveness, and resilience?
- What is done in the system to facilitate banks’ forward-looking assesments with data?
- How do we get support for data-driven, foward-looking supervision?
This event is invite-only. If you’d like to attend, please send an email to sustainablefinancehub@uu.nl.
