NRC published a manifesto, signed by 71 economists, including all SFL members, advocating a CO2 tax for industry. The economists argue that “CO2 pollution must get the price it deserves”. “Through an economy-wide, uniform carbon tax everyone will pay the same amount for their CO2 emissions and the proceeds of the CO2 tax can be channelled back to compensate households for their rising energy costs.
